It’s an ongoing case of amazement to me that no matter when or where I am in NZ there’s a photo begging to be taken. This time I was heading South on the Desert Road North of Waiouru, up on the top where the grass / tussock spreads away from the road, interspersed with the “NZ Army – Do not leave the road for your safety’ signs.

This day the weather was unsure of itself, the left side of the road was clear and bright with the right side covered with low fast moving dark clouds and in between a space of swirling rain drops.

Then from that space a rainbow burst out, standing out against those low dark clouds and throwing the pylons into stark contrast.
